From most mainstream (or lamestream) media you
still wouldn't know that a momentous story is developing in Europe. For the
eighth consecutive day Ramadan fires are torching hundreds of vehicles and
buildings and threatening to spread beyond France's muslim ghettoes even after
the 'holy month.' Washington D.C. blogmistress LaShawn Barber is doing vivid coverage. Most U.S. media, desperately clinging to politically correct even
as they hemorrhage readers and viewers, sanitize with terms like "French
youths." Why are these "professionals" so reluctant to do
their job? Is it really politics? Is it because the fiery turmoil in France
can't be blamed on (choose one or all) Israel, George Bush, the war in Iraq,
U.S. imperialism, American cowboys, Macdonald's?
In liberal media the French are far more
"sophisticated" and "sensitive" than Americans. Bush is the "Nazi Cowboy"
par excellence. Yet French Interior Minister Sarkozy is denouncing the
rioters like Bush would never dare to. Sarkozy is vowing to put down lawless
elements who he calls "scum" and "rabble." By comparison, "Cowboy" Bush is a
pussy cat who would never talk like this to rioting "minorities."
But wait. Is this "uprising" just about France,
which is now 10% muslim? Unfortunately, no. We are now staring European history
in the face (we who can see.) While the socialists cast the drama in their usual
guilt-trip categories of "poverty" and "oppression" and "racism" and
"multi-cultural needs," there are now "No-Go" zones all around Europe, i.e. not
even the police dare enter these areas. This happens even in once quaint Sweden
and Holland. Muslims know their people will out-breed the effete
cappucino-drinking infidels. They also know that Mohammed was a war lord. They
are increasingly defiant. The stage is set for an Occupied Europe.
Of course, despite the French tough talk and the
no-nonsense para-miltaries with their sub-machine guns, the Europeans will back
down in the face of relentless defiance. They'll be more "understanding" of
non-Western needs. The socialists will convince them to improve the entitlement
system, anything to buy some peace for a while and stave off a truly bloody
civil war in Europe. Right-wingers can be marginalized as "loonies," since some
of them are.
Last year the acclaimed historian Bernard Lewis,
formerly a great admirer of Islam, said that "Europe would be Islamic by the end
of the century."
He added, "at the very latest."
This leads to a conjecture: Would that leave the
USA as the last bastion of the West? Or are we that already?
